Church to host White Stone Ceremony

"Turning Over a New Stone!" will be the theme of a White Stone Ceremony at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Unity Northwest Church, 259 E. Central Road, Des Plaines. This service will be led by Lynn Barrette, licensed Unity teacher, and Greg Barrette, senior minister of Unity Northwest.

"The White Stone Ceremony is an ancient ritual of new beginnings," said Greg Barrette.

"In Jesus' day, when a person was released from prison, they were given a white stone to represent their new start. During the White Stone Ceremony, each of us will be given a white stone to signify our freedom. We will then each experience a meditation that will lead us into receiving a word or phrase symbolizing a new start for our new year. We are now free to take our next spiritual step."

A freewill offering will be taken. For information, call (847) 297-0997 or visit unitynorthwest.org.
