Second Baptist Church to lead worship for Martin Luther King Day Chapel

Second Baptist Church of Elgin will continue a rich tradition on Monday, Jan. 15, when choir members join the Rev. Nathaniel Edmond in leading worship during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at Judson University.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

For more than a dozen years, the Second Baptist choir and musicians have gathered at Judson University, along with Rev. Edmond, for a soul-stirring program of worship and introspection.

This service will also be a part of the Overnight Preview Day event that welcomes prospective students and their parents to campus.

This event remains a favorite for the Judson community.

"We are thrilled to partner yet again with the members of Second Baptist Church as their services bring warmth during a cold month," University Ministries Director Chris Lash said. "Their gospel choir is top notch and ranks among the students' favorite chapels of the year!"
