Lake Forest bank robbed

A bandit robbed a Lake Forest bank on Saturday afternoon, police said, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery occurred shortly after noon at Fifth Third Bank, 990 S. Waukegan Road.

The robber was wearing a hat and mask as well as a dark jacket, blue jeans and boots, police said in a news release. He gave a teller a note demanding money and implied he was armed.

After collecting the cash, the robber left on food.

He was described as being about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and between 180 and 200 pounds.
