Lake County chemical waste dropoff

Household chemical waste drop-offs are available Saturday, Jan. 13 and Monday, Jan. 22 at the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County facility, 1311 N. Estes St., Gurnee. Collections are for residential waste only. There is no charge but appointments are required. Accepted items include CFL bulbs, unwanted prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints (no latex) and varnishes, and other household chemicals.
