Error made on Hanover Park waste collection bills

Hanover Park officials said Wednesday that waste hauler Groot Industries made a billing error as part of this month's invoice that mistakenly added a $5 service fee for all accounts.

Customers should disregard the service fee and pay the bill as regular, according to the village.

The village also reminds residents to make payments to Groot and not Republic Services. A payment to Republic Services and not Groot, in some instances, will lead to the bill being shown as not paid. Republic is remitting the funds paid to Groot, but it may not have been done in time for the generation of the latest bill.

Go to http://bit.ly/2CBfm9B to set up an account with Groot to pay for waste hauling rather than Republic. Contact Groot at (630) 469-1036 for further information about your bill. As a result of the error, Groot's customer service telephone number is experiencing long call wait times.
