Man shot in Elgin

A 19-year-old Elgin man was treated for a gunshot wound that is not life-threatening on Wednesday, officials said.

Police responded at around 2:36 p.m. after the man was shot in an unknown location in Elgin and arrived at St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment.

Officials said detectives from the Elgin Police Department Gang Crimes Unit are investigating, and they are asking anyone with information to contact the department at (847) 289-2528.
