Suspended Missouri St players persons of interest in theft

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Missouri State basketball players Tanveer Bhullar and Darian Scott were suspended for a violation of team rules on the same day that a police report listed them as persons of interest in a $1,500 theft investigation.

The suspension happened last Friday before Missouri State slipped past Loyola-Chicago 64-59 in a Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams. The Springfield News-Leader reports that a woman told police the money disappeared during a party that the two players attended. The woman said in a supplemental report that Bhullar returned the money.

No charges have been filed. Missouri State spokesman Rick Kindhart said in a statement that the two players are suspended until further notice.

Bhullar has averaged 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Scott has yet to play.
