Bartlett firefighters get help in rescuing pets

The Fetch Foundation, a nonprofit charity dedicated to saving pets, has donated "Fido Bags" to the Bartlett Fire Protection District this holiday season.

The Fido Bag program supplies firefighters with lifesaving tools to administer medical care to pets being rescued.

"In cases such as fire or automobile accidents, etc., firefighters need special tools on their vehicles to save your four-legged friend's life just as they do you," said Fetch Foundation founder Marie Peck.

The Fetch Foundation's vision is to have a "Fido Bag" on every fire truck in the country and to provide rescued dogs an opportunity to be heroes by rehousing and training them to serve on search-and-rescue teams or as service dogs for military veterans with PTSD.
