Village of Mundelein wins Innovation in Government Award

Submitted by the Lake County Municipal League

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the village of Mundelein was awarded the 2017 Innovation Award at the Lake County Municipal League's Annual Dinner.

Two hundred guests attended the dinner, including representation from 19 municipalities and Lake County.

"This year's innovation award program was extremely competitive," said Mandi Florip, executive director of the Lake County Municipal League.

"Six Lake County communities applied and presented their high caliber of innovative programs, which are saving money, while providing a higher level of service of care to residents. This awards program is a true testament to the great work being done by local government across the county."

The Lake County Municipal League Innovation Awards program recognizes municipalities that developed strategic programs to solve municipal challenges and increase the effectiveness of local government.

The awards program also facilitates an exchange of information and experiences to build capacity for municipalities and jointly celebrate successful programs that could benefit other communities.

The city of North Chicago and village of Lake Zurich were also recognized at the Dec. 6 dinner.
