Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance raise funds for Disney at McDance Night

Buffalo Grove School of Dance from Buffalo Grove Park District held their first annual McDance Night at the Wheeling McDonald's on Lake Cook Road on Wednesday, December 20. A McDance Night is organized to help raise money for local organizations by having the dance coaches work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the nights sales to the local organization.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by dance coaches and parent volunteers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to dancers and their families to raise money for Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance. The dancers and families were excited to see their dance coaches behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Five dance coaches worked from the Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance. The McDance jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance coaches Aly Stanczak, Sean Murillo, and Gini Griffin had a blast dancing around the restaurant in a pie costume. They were encouraging the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

Since it was a McDance Night the dance coaches brought music and performed several dances with their dancers. There was even a hip-hop dancing apple pie thanks to Coach Sean Murillo.

One highlight of the evening is when the Studio of Dance received a tip in the tip jar dance coaches encouraged all the coaches and parent volunteers to sing the McDonald's Jingle. The tips kept pouring in all night long!

A special thank you goes to Jennifer Anderson who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance coaches and volunteers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening.

The Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance from Buffalo Grove Park District dance team is going to Disney World in June 2018. The dancers will be taking workshops with Disney performers. The dance team will be performing on stage at Disney Springs. The funds raised at the McDance Night will help support the cost of the workshops and transportation around Disney.

Buffalo Grove Studio of Dance raised over $630.00 at the event thanks to all generous families who supported the event.
