Women's Top 25 Capsules

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Geno Auriemma earned his 1,000th win as top-ranked UConn beat Oklahoma 88-64 on Tuesday night in the Hall of Fame women's Holiday Showcase.

Auriemma became the fourth Division I women's coach to reach the milestone, joining Pat Summitt, Tara VanDerveer and Sylvia Hatchell, who got her 1,000th victory earlier Tuesday. Duke boss Mike Krzyzewski is the only men's coach to win 1,000 games at college basketball's highest level.

Auriemma is the fastest to achieve the mark, doing so in his 1,135th game. The Hall of Fame coach has gone 500-36 since winning his 500th game in 2003. That includes winning 100 of his last 101 contests.

Sitting by Auriemma's side for the 1,000 wins has been associate head coach Chris Dailey. She's been with Auriemma since he took over at UConn in 1985. Dailey led the Huskies to seven victories while filling in as head coach, though all of them are credited to Auriemma.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Huskies dumped Gatorade buckets full of confetti on Auriemma and Dailey. Fake $1,000 bills dropped from the ceiling with Auriemma and Dailey's pictures on them.

Players from Auriemma's first team in 1985 that beat Iona for win No. 1 were in attendance and introduced to the sellout crowd. His current team held up masks of Auriemma and Dailey with their pictures from 1985.

Napheesa Collier had 21 points for UConn (9-0). Maddie Manning scored 15 to lead Oklahoma (5-6).

No. 14 DUKE 69, MAINE 39

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Lexie Brown scored 26 points and Duke defeated Maine.

Hayley Gorecki had 13 points and 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double starting in place of senior Rebecca Greenwell. Just two 3-pointers shy of the school record, Greenwell missed her second game with knee pain and is day to day.

Gorecki's 3-pointer started a game-opening 14-0 run for the Blue Devils (9-2), who have won three straight. Brown finished 11 of 13 and Duke shot 52 percent, including 7 of 15 from long distance.

Blanca Millan had 16 points for the Black Bears (6-6), who shot 20 percent (12 of 65) and made just six of their school-record 43 attempts from 3-point range.

No. 21 GREEN BAY 63, NORTHWESTERN 57

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Allie Leclaire made four 3-pointers and scored 22 points, and Jessica Lindstrom had 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in Green Bay's victory over Northwestern.

Green Bay scored the first seven points and never trailed. Northwestern pulled to 44-42 early in the fourth but Green Bay answered with an 11-1 run.

Caitlyn Hibner added 14 points for Green Bay (10-1), which lost to No. 5 Mississippi State on Nov. 25.

Abi Scheid scored 17 points to lead Northwestern (6-7).
