Aurora teen wounded in drive-by shooting
Aurora police are investigating a drive-by shooting of a 13-year-old Aurora boy on Saturday, authorities said.
The victim and his 17-year-old brother were walking on the 1000 block of Kane Street at 4:20 p.m. Saturday when at least one shot was fired from a red vehicle, possibly a Hyundai sedan with dark tinted windows, authorities said.
The vehicle was driving east on Kane Street and continued in the same direction after shots were fired.
The 17-year-old was able to flag down a nearby Kane County sheriff's deputy after the shooting.
The victim suffered a life-threatening head injury and was taken to a hospital before being airlifted to another hospital, police said.
Minutes before the shooting, the two teens were involved in a verbal altercation with at least one other man while inside of a pizza business on the 1100 block of East New York Street, authorities said.
It's unknown if the argument is connected to the shooting.
