Mundelein lab building sold for $1.95 million

The Orchard Technology Center, a 60,000 square-foot mixed-use building at 909 E Orchard in Mundelein. was recently sold for $1.95 million, Chicago-based commercial real estate firm SVN | Chicago Commercial announced.

The Orchard Technology Center is a mixed-use laboratory and office building with flexible space that was built for pharmaceutical research by Baxter Travenol. The building consists of three separate laboratory blocks that total 30,000 square feet and three office/flex blocks that also total 30,000 square feet. The laboratory blocks each contain multiple individual wet laboratories with Class 10,000 cleanroom facilities, fume hoods, specialty gas line distribution, distilled water, compressed air and vacuum lines, and heavy power. There is one vivarium block of approximately 10,000 square feet that includes multiple separate wet lab spaces.

High-quality, refurbished laboratory space presents a leasing option for users who would like to lease top-quality lab space at a discount to new construction. Separable flex-space and office blocks can be individually leased to users who need high-quality construction features built by a major international corporation.

Michael Rudman, John Guill, and John McDermott of SVN | Chicago Commercial represented the buyer in the transaction and have been retained for its lease.
