How a business can earn customers' trust
I received a surprise letter in the mail this week. Normally I'm ripping it in half and tossing in the garbage without opening. For a second though, I hesitated with this one and decided to open it. Good thing because it wasn't junk mail. Inside was a letter, explaining that the repair I had done at a dealership this summer was scrutinized in an audit and the invoice I paid had an inaccuracy.
It appears the repair was actually covered under a lifetime warranty. The average consumer would never catch this due to the fact, that since our Constitution was formed centuries ago, through complex jargon such as fine print allotment- it has always been "buyer beware."
This fine establishment had just earned my trust which is an invaluable commodity. In the spirit of the holidays, it is refreshing that there are American establishments that safeguard our true values- like honesty and integrity. My hat's off to this dealership in Arlington Heights. This is the kind of message that we need to truly make America strong again!
