Two federal gun bills are dangerous

Open letter to Rep. Roskam:

The Share Act is being promoted as a need for hunters. The provision for the legalization of silencers is buried deep within the bill. It's hard to find. Hunters have done without silencers for many years.

This bill really isn't about hunters. It's about gun sales being stagnant. So gun shops need another product - silencers - to sell. Can you imagine a shooter in a school with silencer? Or a shooter with a silencer in a night club? A movie theater? A sporting event? How many more would have been killed or wounded in Las Vegas had the shooter used a silencer? Please vote "no" on the Share Act. It is dangerous legislation.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow anyone from any state, even those with no or lax gun laws, to carry their guns into Illinois legally. I hope your position is for the safety of citizens of Illinois where concealed carry is licensed by the state of Illinois. Please support the safety of your Illinois constituents by voting "no" on the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. It is dangerous legislation.

Please advise your positions on these bills. If you support these bills, please provide an explanation supporting your position. If you do not support these bills, I thank you.
