Women's Club of Inverness Jingle and Mingle Raises Over $21,000
Women's Club of Inverness (WCI) members and their guests "jingled and mingled" on November 15th at Medinah Country Club to raise over $21,000 for local charities. Enjoying this Girls' Night Out were close to 300 guests who spent the evening with friends and family, choosing among an assortment of activities.
Pampering was arranged by WCI Member Tricia Gregory of Nordstrom Woodfield. Tricia brought together national make-up artists from several cosmetic lines to provide make-up enhancements. Thirty-one vendors offered an array of items for a jump start on holiday shopping.
In Food Network style, WCI featured three well-known Chicago chefs who demonstrated their recipes and techniques. Stephanie Chase, a Gale Gand protégé and former pastry chef at MK Restaurant, created a flourless chocolate cake with milk chocolate mousse, topped with torched marshmallow fluff. Chef Pete Balodimas, Lettuce Entertain You Executive Chef, created appetizers of Shrimp Toast and Crab Tartlets. Coming from Evanston Country Club, Chef Chris Macchia demonstrated Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter, Sage, Fried Brussel Sprouts and Pecorino. We thank Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stephenson, Tony's Finer Foods, and Supreme Lobster who sponsored the Chef shows.
Ladies participated in chances to win holiday trees adorn with cash or gift cards; each of the 10 trees offered a $500 to $700 value. There were also 17 Money Board winners; each received a Nordstrom gift card or cash of $50 to $200. At the Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, ladies could purchase a pair of CZ earrings for a chance to win 4 other jewelry items retailing for $200 to $2500.
Planning this fun and financial success were Jingle & Mingle event chairs, Karen Kallman and Sue Sadowski, along with their committee. We thank event sponsor, Palatine Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank.
At the upcoming WCI December 14 meeting, members will celebrate fall event triumph, and will be jazzed up, courtesy of Gene Garcia's Jazz Quartet, and the unveiling of the 2018 fashion show theme by Chair Nina Stephenson and her Co-Chairs, Sue Rogers and Leslie Roberts. Mark your calendar for Thursday, April 12 for this fabulous luncheon benefit.
