St. Charles Kiwanis Peanut Days surpasses $20,000 goal

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club exceeded its goal of $20,000 in donations for this year's Peanut Days fundraiser. There are over 40 organizations that benefit, including TriCity Family Services, Boy and Girl Scouts, LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, CASA-Kane County, and Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley. The donations also greatly help the club achieve its mission of serving children locally and around the world.

A recent addition to Kiwanis Peanut Days has been the donation of boxes of peanuts to troops overseas. Operation Support Our Troops was founded in Naperville in 2003. It will be in charge or deliver 160 boxes - that's 16,000 bags of peanuts - to our troops.

The club wishes to thank the community and Operation Support Our Troops for its help.

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesdays at the Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in St. Charles. Service-minded individuals are invited to attend for fellowship and fun. Kiwanis is a global organization serving the children of the world.
