Palatine Township Hosts Toy/Gift Drive Through December 18, 2017
New, unwrapped toys or gifts to be given to in-need Palatine Township children and young adults are being accepted at the Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine, through December 18, 2017.
The toys or gifts should be appropriate for infants through individuals up to 18 years of age. Families who will benefit from the drive include new Township residents, in addition to those who missed the deadlines for other holiday giving programs sponsored by Palatine Township.
"Our Township residents are always so generous over the holiday season," said Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson. "This last drive of the year will help to ensure that the holidays are just a little bit brighter for area children who are in-need, and might not otherwise be receiving gifts due to financial hardships."
In addition to helping families during the holiday season, the toy and gift donations also assist Township residents throughout the year with gifts for children's birthdays, for sick children and to help parents experiencing a variety of hardships afford gifts for their children.
Individuals who would like to donate gifts for local young people do not need to sign up in advance; they are asked to drop off the donations between normal business hours at the Township which are Mondays from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The deadline is Monday, December 18, 2017.
