Come out for Rolling Meadows' holiday celebration

The City of Rolling Meadows will hold its annual Downtown Holiday Celebration Thursday, Dec. 7. The celebration consists of two holiday city events in one evening.

The tree-lighting ceremony will be at 6 p.m. in front of the McDonald's at 3140 Kirchoff Road. Santa will arrive on a fire truck and light the tree. Live music will be provided by the Rolling Meadows High School choir and local Girl Scouts.

Free hot chocolate will be available, compliments of McDonald's, and free cookies and trinkets, compliments of the City of Rolling Meadows.

Then, walk one block to the free spaghetti dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Fogarty Fire Station, 3111 Meadow Drive. The dinner is open to all Rolling Meadows residents.

Enjoy a buffet-style, Italian dinner of spaghetti, meatballs, focaccia bread and salad served by members of the fire department and Community Events Foundation volunteers. Dessert samples will be provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Make sure you stop by and say hi to Santa's elves and live reindeer outside next to the fire station.
