Rotary donates winter coats to Keeneyville District 20
The Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle recently presented Keeneyville Elementary District 20 with 81 new winter coats for needy families.
"Igniting the power and potential of students is truly a community effort, and for those children in need, we are very lucky to have such a caring service organization like the Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle," school Superintendent Michael Connolly said.
The donation was organized by Rotarian Jenny Yockey from Friendly Ford Inc. in Roselle. Working with Stratford Square Mall personnel and Carson's store managers, Yockey secured a monetary donation and a discount on the coats. The remaining balance was paid for by the Rotary.
Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle was founded in 1997 and is part of Rotary International, a global network.
With more than 35,000 clubs nationwide, the service group works to make a difference in local communities and beyond.
