Cold-weather recess guidelines in District 15

Palatine Township Elementary District 15 has announced its guidelines for cold-weather recess for the 2017-18 academic year. Officials said students generally will go outside for recess every day if the combined temperature and wind chill is above 10 degrees. If the combined actual temperature and wind chill is below 0 degrees, all students will remain inside for the entire lunch hour. If the combined actual temperature and wind chill is between 0 and 10 degrees, students will have a shortened window of outdoor recess and will remain indoors for the remainder of the lunch/recess hour.
