Variety: Lauer used button at his desk to lock his office door

Longtime NBC morning host Matt Lauer, fired Wednesday by the network for "inappropriate sexual behavior," had a button at his desk allowing him to lock his office door, according to a report published in Variety.

The showbiz magazine was in the midst of a two-month investigation of the former "Today" co-host when news broke of his ousting.

Wednesday, Variety reported that Lauer's office "was in a secluded space," and that the button under his desk "afforded him the assurance of privacy," according to two women who told Variety they had been harassed by Lauer.

The report also included lurid details of Lauer's behavior as described in "dozens" of interviews with his former co-workers, including an allegation that Lauer gave a colleague a sex toy as a gift and that he once exposed himself to another colleague in his office.
