'Hamilton' extends run through Sept. 2; tickets on sale Dec. 5

The holidays got a bit brighter for “Hamilton” fans with Thursday's announcement that the Chicago production will remain here through Sept. 2, 2018.

A new block of tickets for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway blockbuster go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the CIBC Theatre box office (18 W. Monroe St., Chicago), or at (800) 775-2000 or broadwayinchicago.com.

Tickets range from $75 to $195 for regular performances, although premium seats are available. The new, 18-week block of tickets are from May 1 through Sept. 2. There is a limit of 12 tickets per household.

Chicago's production of the hip-hop-centered musical chronicling the life of Founding Father and first U.S. treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton opened in October 2016.
