Ss. Peter & Paul to present 'Messiah'

Handel's "Messiah" and a Carol Singalong will highlight Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church's annual Christmas concert next month in Naperville.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in the church, 36 N. Ellsworth St.

"This concert is going to be more amazing than any concert we have ever done," said Maestro Matthew S. Sprinkle, director of sacred music at the church.

The orchestra and choir performance of the Christmas portion of "Messiah" has become a trademark for concerts at the church since 2013.

This year's performance also will feature the choir of Saint Raphael Church of Naperville.

More than 70 musicians will be involved in the performance. The concert also will feature soloists JoEllyn Caulfield, Brynn Bixby, Christina Bernardoni, Justin Miller and Joe Arco.

When the Christmas portion of "Messiah" is over, the musicians will invite the audience to participate in the second part of the concert featuring Christmas carols in their traditional arrangement to make it easy for the audience to sing along.

The singalong will include such favorites as "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silent Night."

The concert also will include choral favorites performed only by the choirs.

Tickets are $10 to $30. For details, call (630) 718-2119 or visit www.sspeterandpaul.net.
