Geneva nails down Rachel Bach Tournament title

Geneva's girls basketball team, the defending Class 4A champion, hasn't missed a beat to open a new season.

The Vikings, who now own an 18-game winning streak dating back to last season, won the Rachel Bach Tournament championship at Glenbard East Friday, defeating Glenbard West 59-49.

Bri Borkowicz led the Vikings' balanced scoring with 15 points. Stephanie Hart had 13, Margaret Whitley 12 and Maddy Yelle 9.

The Vikings (5-0) open Upstate Eight River play next Tuesday at Streamwood.
