Man accused in Indianapolis drug ring faces new charges
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A man who authorities say headed a large and violent Indianapolis-based drug trafficking ring has been charged in new cases involving distribution of methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana.
The indictments unsealed Monday detail new allegations against 28-year-old Richard Grundy III and nearly two dozen other people this year. The Indianapolis Star reports the charges follow a series of federal raids Friday across Indianapolis, the same day Grundy and several others were arrested.
The Associated Press left a message for lawyer Keirian Brown, who earlier represented Grundy.
Grundy was among nearly a dozen people charged in 2015 in a drug and murder conspiracy. Grundy faced five counts of murder but reached a plea agreement for dealing marijuana. He was sentenced in September to probation, with credit for about 1ˆ½ years spent jailed.
