Mississippi Valley's Comegy won't return as coach
ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi Valley State's Rick Comegy won't return as football coach next season.
The school released a statement Monday saying that Comegy's contract, which is scheduled to expire at the end of the year, will not be renewed.
Comegy had a 6-38 record with the Delta Devils over four seasons, including a 2-9 record this fall. The 64-year-old coach had success at previous stops, including Tuskegee and Jackson State, but could never find a winning formula at Mississippi Valley.
Mississippi Valley says Vincent Dancy will take over as the interim coach while the school searches for a full-time replacement.
