Donate winter clothes, help veterans

The Lincolnshire Police Department is collecting winter clothing and gear for a nonprofit group called the Midwest Veterans Closet.

New or gently used coats, boots, gloves, hats and other winter gear are sought. Items can be donated at village hall, 1 Olde Half Day Road, through Nov. 24.

Based in North Chicago, Midwest Veterans Closet provides clothing, household items, shoes, linens, and food to needy veterans. Housing and employment assistance as available, too.
