Yes, it was highly effective brainwashing that brought America to its knees on gun control. By the NRA and the GOP repeatedly asserting that "the government will take away your guns" and "Obama will take away your guns," they laid bare the fears of our mal-informed citizenry and lied them into panic mode.Whatever would "the government" do with its people if they actually "took us over?" And why would they want to?
