Hanover Township to distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes

Hanover Township will distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes to qualifying families beginning Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park.

Meal boxes also will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17; 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, Nov. 20 to Wednesday, Nov. 22, while supplies last.

Residents need a valid ID and food pantry card or utility bill to receive a meal box.

Each meal box contains a 12- to 14-pound frozen turkey, canned fruits and vegetables, coffee, dessert and gravy mix, instant potatoes and stuffing mix.

Last year 369 meal boxes were distributed.
