Zion police investigating fatal hit-and-run
Zion police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened there Tuesday evening.
The Lake County coroner's office identified the victim as 47-year-old Latatia Shepard of Zion, according to police.
Police said a vehicle traveling north struck and fatally injured Shepard on the 2200 block of Lewis Avenue. A passing driver reported the incident at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, but police said it is unclear when exactly it happened.
The Zion Police Department is asking any witnesses of the incident or erratic driving on Lewis Avenue around 5 p.m. Tuesday to come forward.
