Buffalo Grove Fire Department raises $17,000 for MDA
Members of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department recently collected more than $17,000 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Each year, Buffalo Grove firefighters, along with the fire departments across the country, help to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is an organization that supports research and other initiatives to assist children and adults living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases.
During "Restaurant Night," more than $1,700 was collected by firefighters from local restaurant patrons, including those dining at The Buffalo, Continental, Nino's, Culver's and Dairy Queen.
More than $10,000 was raised by firefighters who collected funds over a two-day period while stationed outside at Buffalo Grove roadways who garnered donations from residents and individuals driving through town.
In addition, $2,500 was collected during Buffalo Grove Days, as well as at the parade, with $3,000 coming from anonymous donors.
The Buffalo Grove Fire Department would like to thank all the village officials and employees, business owners and individuals in the community who donated toward this worthy cause.
