Two teens shot in Waukegan

Waukegan police are investigating the shooting of two teenagers Thursday afternoon near the Greenbelt Forest Preserve.

Officers called to the 1400 block of Dugdale Road in response to a reported shooting found the victims, both Waukegan boys in the midteens, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

The boys were taken to hospitals for what police described as nonlife-threatening injuries to their legs.

There is no threat to the public, police said.
