Power out after truck strikes utility pole in Rolling Meadows

A semi-truck struck a utility pole late Wednesday morning in Rolling Meadows' downtown area, cutting off electrical services to nearby residents and businesses.

The truck was traveling on Meadow Drive, just north of Kirchoff Road, when the pole was struck in the 11 a.m. hour, according to the Rolling Meadows Fire Department.

Officials said power in the area has been temporarily interrupted. ComEd is on scene working to restore service. Traffic in the area was being diverted.
