Chicago police SUV crashes into hole; 2 officers hurt
CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities say a Chicago police SUV hit a construction barrier and crashed into a hole at a construction site, injuring two officers.
The single-vehicle crash was happened about 4:20 a.m. Thursday on the city's South Side. The Chicago Fire Department responded to get the officers out and took them to a hospital.
Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi (goo-lee-EHL'-mee) said in a tweet that the officers were in serious condition.
A statement from police says a 33-year-old officer had injuries to his left forearm, right leg and right hip. A 25-year-old officer had an injury to his right forearm. Police say the injuries weren't considered to be life-threatening. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
