Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter of NSDAR Day of Service

On October 11, 2015, in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution, the NSDAR declared October 11 as a "Day of Service". Each year the Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter of Libertyville recognizes the first responders in our community with a thank you note and a small gift.

This October, the Ansel Brainerd Cook NSDAR Chapter members filled 400+ gift bags for firemen, policemen, and veterans to include their escorts at the next Lake County Honor Flight. The community came together as the Jelly Bell Corporation and Trader Joe's donated candy and nuts. In addition, Columbia College of Missouri allowed the Chapter to use a classroom to assemble the gift bags.

The Ansel Brainerd Cook NSDAR Chapter members delivered baskets on October 11, 2017 containing the gift bags at fire and police stations in Antioch, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake Villa, Lakemoor, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Wauconda, and Woodstock.

The Ansel Brainerd Cook DAR Chapter strives to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism via commemorative events, scholarships and educational initiatives, citizenship programs, service to veterans, meaningful community service, and more.
