Palatine Painter Captures Nature Scenes in Exhibit

Palatine artist Nancy Wedow loves capturing nature scenes in her watercolor paintings on exhibit through Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Fremont Public Library, 1170 N. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein. Co-sponsored by the Northwest Cultural Council, Wedow's exhibit includes realistic and abstract images.

Wedow's imagery is inspired by her experiences at home and by travel to remote areas of the world.

"I delight in being outdoors in any season, and my goal is to express the essence of the day, be it a sunny day with luminous shadows or one of those bright gray winter days when fluffy snowflakes drift down from the sky," Wedow says.

"I hope that viewers experience the beauty I see in the world and that they are inspired to take the time to experience that sense of wonder in their own everyday lives," Wedow adds.

The artist is a regular exhibitor in several northwest suburban venues, including the Wellness Center of Northwest Community Hospital and the Arlington Green Executive Center in Arlington Heights, the Rolling Meadows Library, and Meet Chicago Northwest in Schaumburg.

Wedow's juried shows have also been sponsored by the Midwest Watercolor Society,(Now Transparent Watercolor Society of America), and the Norris Cultural Center in St. Charles, among others.
