Enjoy sweet treats at Oct. 27 bake sale at St. Charles City Hall

The City of St. Charles will be hosting a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St.

Sweet fall and Halloween-themed treats of all kinds made by city employees will be available for purchase. Raffle tickets for prizes from local businesses also will be available for $3 each.

All proceeds from the raffle and bake sale will benefit Elderday Center, day service provider for adults age 55 and older. The city is also raising money for Elderday Center throughout the month of October through its "Giving Fridays" initiative, where city employees can dress casually on Fridays in exchange for making a donation to a select charity or organization.

"City employees are proud to come together to benefit this outstanding organization doing wonderful work in our communities," said Director of Human Resources Jennifer McMahon. "Our October bake sale is just one of many initiatives we undertake to give back to the community we serve."

The city has joined with several other organizations that support Elderday, including United Way, St. Charles Mental Health Board, and St. Charles Township Senior Citizen's Committee.
