Suspect kills self in Waukegan lock-up

A 40-year-old Waukegan man who had been arrested Saturday afternoon on domestic battery charges killed himself that evening in the Waukegan jail, authorities said Monday.

Aaron Chilcutt was found unresponsive in his cell at 6:30 p.m., according to a news release. He was taken to Vista Medical Center East, where he was pronounced dead.

The Lake County coroner's office on Monday determined Chilcutt had hanged himself, the news release said.
