All Hallows Eve at Naper Settlement
Venture out to Naper Settlement for All Hallows Eve Friday and Saturday, when scary literature comes to life at the historic attraction. See Frankenstein's Laboratory, a Victorian Insane Asylum, a Torture Dungeon and more at 523 S. Webster St., Naperville. Not for kids younger than 8, and no costumes allowed. Tickets cost $20. Halloween Fall Festival at Randhurst Village
Enjoy family-friendly Halloween fun with your kids or grandkids at Randhurst Village's annual Halloween Fall Festival Saturday. Highlights include a pet costume parade with prizes, entertainment, pumpkin decorating, crafts, wagon rides and owl appearances from the Stillman Nature Center in South Barrington. The event kicks off at center court at Randhurst, located at Rand and Elmhurst roads in Mount Prospect. Pet parade registration is at 11:30 a.m. in front of the AMC movie theater. 'The Best of Broadway: Rodgers & Hammerstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber

Nightmare on Chicago Street
Survive a zombie apocalypse when Nightmare on Chicago Street returns to Elgin on Saturday between Douglas Avenue and Villa Street. The downtown appears to be under attack, while the "safe zone" offers entertainment, food, drinks and graffiti artists. Anyone younger than 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
