Search continues for McHenry County man wanted for child assault
McHenry County authorities continue to search for a 26-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a child last week.
Esau Ancheyta Hernandez has been a fugitive since Friday, when he fled a home in the 12000 block of Hebron Road near Hebron after being confronted by family members of the child, authorities said.
Hernandez faces a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. An arrest warrant has been issued, with bail set at $250,000, authorities said.
Hernandez remains at large, despite a multijurisdictional search involving multiple police dogs, drones and a helicopter in the area of Hebron Road and the Illinois-Wisconsin State Line. Sheriff's police said he was last seen wearing gray pants, a teal shirt, and tennis shoes.
He is 5'6", weighs approximately 135 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes, officials said.
