Gurnee holding Halloween event for children

The Gurnee Park District will host a Halloween Trick or Treat event for children 1 to 6 years old at Viking Park at 1 p.m. Saturday. The trick-or-treaters will be led around the park, stopping at little houses to get candy from the characters who live there like Elmo, Winnie the Pooh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, princesses and more. If there is rain in the forecast, the decision on whether to cancel the event will be made by 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Call (847) 268-2080 for updates on the status of the event. The last group will be sent on the path at 3 p.m. No preregistration is required. The cost for residents is $5 and the cost for nonresidents is $10.
