Boys soccer: Libertyville blanks Grayslake Central

Ryan Wittenbrink had 2 goals and 4 assists, figuring in every goal in the nonconference game, as Libertyville's boys soccer team remained undefeated by blanking Grayslake Central 6-0 on Tuesday.

Nate Pacholski also scored twice for the Wildcats (14-0-2). Grant Herbeck and Mason Williams had goals as well, and Will Powers and Tom Smitey contributed assists.

Wittenbrink hiked his season totals to 28 goals and 13 assists.

Warren 2, Vernon Hills 0: Clayton Mobile scored in each half of the nonconference match to lead the Blue Devils to victory.

Mike Bassier and Cory Melchor had assists, and keeper Hunter Faurbo made 2 saves for the shutout, as Warren improved to 10-10-2.

Grayslake North 2, Glenbrook South 1: Logan Perhacs redirected a pass from fellow senior Ronaldo Rojas into the net just before halftime, and that turned out to be the game-winning goal in the nonconference match.

Sophomore Sam Inmon also scored for Grayslake North, finishing a pass from sophomore Omar Cordova, to give the Knights a 1-0 lead before Glenbrook South scored the equalizer.

"We came out with much more fight and determination than we have played with in many of our tougher games, and we reaped the benefits of that approach tonight," Grayslake North coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "Our boys worked tirelessly to get into Glenbrook South's defensive third, to put them under as much pressure as possible."

Grayslake North senior keeper Josh Suciu made 4 saves.

Zion-Benton 5, Grant 1: The Bulldogs' only goal in the nonconference game came from Danny Talavera off an assist from Will Gonzalez.
