Kirk Players to present 'Trivia Tonight' fundraiser in Mundelein

Submitted by Kirk Players

Join the Kirk Players at "Trivia Tonight," an evening packed with entertainment, trivia competition, a team theme/costume contest, a table raffle, free soft drinks and food, a beer and wine cash bar and the World Premiere of the Original Comedy Skit, "The Unauthorized People's History of the Kirk Players."

The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Santa Maria del Popolo Parish Center in Mundelein. Proceeds will help the organization raise money for additional storage space to house costumes, props, lighting equipment and set pieces.

"In our 52 year history we have seldom reached out to our patrons and community for a helping hand. Free summer children's and adult workshops and gifts, grants and scholarships are just a few community-minded elements of the Kirk Player charter," said Brenda Sparks, newly installed president of the Mundelein-based theater group. "We are thankful for the support we have had over the years from community friends like St. Andrew Church, where we audition and rehearse throughout our entire season. But our props, costumes and set materials are spread out all over Lake County, and so we have come to the point where we must raise funds to build or underwrite a dwelling to house our stuff."

"The event we've planned is packed with fun for all," said Gretchen Grassl, VP and Events chairwoman. "We have the trivia contest, amazing prizes for people to check out in our table raffle, a fun comedy skit, free pizza and soft drinks, a cash bar and other surprise entertainment. And we invite folks to register as a single participant or teams of two to eight Trivia contestants."
