Stand up and take action

It's Sunday and once again football players are kneeling during the national anthem to protest the treatment of blacks in our country. This is a very nice but altogether useless gesture. If they really cared, they would open their wallets and use some of the millions of dollars they earn for playing a game to build youth and job training facilities in the inner cities. Giving kids a place to go other than the streets or teaching them a trade is a positive way to keep them out of the gangs. It's time for them to get off their knees, stand up tall and take action. Protests are useless - actions get results.
