Hampshire-Henpeck HCE to meet Oct. 17

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Heartland Bank, off Route 72 and Warner Street in Hampshire.

They will be discussing the unit lesson on modern food trends and a unit lesson on "Eggs - Knowledge" to make well-informed decisions when purchasing eggs and keeping them safe. They will discuss the "Way to Recall Memories" presentation to be given by guest Willie Etta Wright at the Oct. 11 Kane County Association for Home and Community Education's open house. Hostesses for the upcoming meeting are Frances Stuehler and Eileen Miller. All are invited to attend. Your input and suggestions are very important in making the upcoming meetings informative and interesting.

Oct. 8-14 is HCE Week so look for the unit's display at Heartland Bank. The International Day, featuring the Philippines and Fine Arts and Craft Competition, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 123 Country Line Road, Maple Park. Speaker for this meeting is Father Ariel Valencia, pastor at St. Peter Church, Geneva. Lunch is catered by Cuisine de Manila. Reservation form and payment of $15 are due by Saturday, Nov. 4.

Hampshire-Henpeck HCE is a member of Kane County Association for Home and Community Education. Its mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through quality, educational programs and experiences, encouraging responsible leadership and service to the community.
