Here's my choice: No longer a fan

I called two NFL team headquarters Sept. 27 and told them that I'm 57, a lifelong NFL fan, and that I will never watch another game or spend another dime on their product again.

I'm not alone. This is happening everywhere. Why? Simple. The NFL is a product. It markets that product to its customers. We the fans are the customers. The NFL has made it perfectly clear that it doesn't care about the fans.

You can talk all you want about "rights." But players do not have the right to do whatever they want while wearing the trademark NFL logo on their uniforms. They've chosen to disrespect the flag, the anthem, the fans. Their choice. And the NFL has sided with the players. That's their choice.

Well, I was a fan. Now I'm not a fan. That's my choice.
