One person injured in Naperville building fire

One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries following a fire on the 1700 block of Napoleon Drive in Naperville late Monday, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the multi-unit home for a smoke investigation at 11:26 p.m., authorities said in a news release.

Officials first on the scene reported smoke and fire coming from a second story bedroom in the building.

The fire was quickly extinguished, officials said.

The home was unoccupied, authorities said.

Residents were living in neighboring units, and one person was taken to Edward Hospital with unknown injuries.

Authorities deemed the vacant unit uninhabitable, but the neighboring homes were deemed safe after the fire, officials said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
