Trustmark Companies names new board member

LAKE FOREST - Carlos Minetti, president of consumer banking at Discover Financial Services, will join the board of directors of Trustmark Mutual Holding Company in December.

In addition to his responsibilities as president of consumer banking at Riverwoods-based Discover, Minetti is a member of the Discover Financial Services executive committee and serves on the board of directors of Discover Bank and the Bank of New Castle in Delaware. In his current role, Minetti led Discover's entry into direct banking by launching the Personal Loans, Student Loans, Home Loans and Deposits businesses, beginning in 2007.

Prior leadership roles at Discover include executive vice president of cardmember services and chief risk officer. Prior to joining Discover, Minetti was senior vice president, card operations, at American Express Company. In that role, he helped establish American Express as an industry leader in customer service.

Minetti is involved in a variety of not-for-profit activities primarily focused on education and business ethics. He serves as chairman of the board for the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois, director of the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and director of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation Board.

Minetti holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
