Tuesday Morning Quarterback

Daily Herald Report

Name: Sam Odell

School: Wheaton North

Year: Senior

Best thing about being an offensive lineman: Being behind the scenes a little bit, but you know how much you affect the game and help your team.

Worst thing about being an offensive lineman: If you're not performing or you're not doing well, you could be the first one to get the blame.

Don't tell my coach that: I am sore or slightly banged up. I want to get back out there.

If I could change one thing about football: I'd put more time on the clock. I want to play more.

Team not on our schedule I wish we could play: I wish we played Wheaton Academy. I know a lot of kids on that team. I'm pretty sure we'd get a win.

How I'll celebrate if I score a TD: I'd get hyped with the team in the end zone.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat: I don't have any social media. For me personally it's kind of a distraction.

What I like best about my school: I like the amount of pride we have at our school.

Something about me that would surprise you: As gritty as an offensive lineman needs to be, I'm laid back off the field.

Other sports I play: I throw shot and discus in track and field.

Favorite actor: I like Morgan Freeman a lot. He can be in any type of movie.

Favorite actress: Scarlett Johansson. She's a superhero in the Marvel movies, which I like a lot.

Favorite athlete: One of my favorite athletes is Tim Tebow. Like him I try to carry my faith on and off the field while performing at a high level.

Favorite musician: I like U2's sound and the music they make.

The stat

Each year since 2014 Lisle has sliced its margin of defeat to Wilmington basically by half, losing 34-3 in 2014, 21-7 in 2015, 20-14 in 2016 and 28-25 last Friday.

The tweet

"Big game last night!! Hit from 50, 37, and a 45 yard game winner! S/o to the team and coaches for supporting me"

- Neuqua Valley senior kicker Stephen Ruiz (@stephen_ruiz5), whose three field goals - including a program-record 50-yarder - helped the Wildcats beat Naperville North 31-28.
